HUMANISM OR FEMINISM?
If Feminism stands for equal rights for both men and women, then why is it called ‘Feminism’ and not ‘Humanism’?
Most of the men start hating women based on the context that they might be feminists. But let me take you straight to the point and clear this misunderstanding that ‘Feminism is all about striving equal rights for men and women! It does not include degrading or ignoring men’. Even a man can be a feminist!
People who believe in gender equality are basically feminists. Believing that men and women must have equal rights is the apt definition of Feminism.
According to Beyoncé, “If you’re a man who believes your daughter should have the same opportunities and rights as your son, then you’re a feminist.”
Though Feminism focuses on human rights, yet it is called Feminism and not Humanism because in the patriarchal society males already had the all the privileges in the society due to which the name evolved as it was believed empowering women and considering them equal to men will hopefully bring a change.
Don’t make it sound like a horrible word! Let’s fully understand what it means before judging it by its name.
