Unspoken Instincts

 'You want to keep the blood and the milk hidden as if the womb and the breast never fed you'  As I was reading these beautiful lines, by Rupi Kaur, I realized how beautifully she has described everything in one sentence. Here she talks about the taboo that has been formulated in the minds of the people for a decade. How people find it difficult to talk about the things that have actually fed them and brought them into this world.  The essence of these beautiful lines caught my attention and I thought of sharing this with you all.

Today, I came across these lines 'Menstruation is the only blood not shed from violence but the blood that disgusts you the most' and realized that it is very true for some. Most of the people including men and women loathe menstruation blood. It basically disgusts them. I don't know the reason behind all the hatred for the menstruation blood.  But I never felt this way. I feel honoured to be a woman. I feel good when I have my periods. (Ignoring all the hardships and the trouble faced).  I feel it's a privilege to be a woman. And it definitely is, we should remember that.  Only a woman has the privilege of giving birth and breastfeeding. No other being in the universe can do this. So, isn't it a thing to feel proud of?  Menstruation is also one of the things that can be experienced by women only. Do not detest or repel it.  This one is for all the men and women out there who disgust the menstruation blood!!!  When people ask me, 'What's your superpower?...
